Important: The ACL Executive Board, in a continuing effort to improve, ensure, and protect equity and diversity in our community, would appreciate your help in getting more accurate information about the makeup of our community. As a first pilot experiment, we will be asking about gender in the registration form this year. The information collected in this way will be anonymized by the ACL business manager before it is passed on to the executive committees of ACL, NAACL, and EACL. Only aggregate statistics will be stored, and the information will only be presented in such a way that it is not possible to identify individuals (excluding categories with fewer than 10 individuals). We hope that you are willing to share this information with us, but it is of course completely voluntary.

Children and Family
ACL will be offering subsidized on-site childcare for the first time at ACL 2017. We have hired a professional childcare company, KiddieCorp, to provide this service. Regular conference participants will be charged $10 USD per hour per child. Student participants will be charged $5.
In addition to childcare, we invite you to bring your children, spouses and loved ones to the social event at the conference. On the registration form there is a section where you can purchase additional meals or additional tickets to the social event for your family members. The social event for this year is an evening at the Vancouver Aquarium Marine. It’s a family friendly venue, and we hope to see you and your family there!
